Had gadia

Had Gadia (by Chava Alberstein)
My father bought it. For just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb!My father bought it. For just two coinsAs the Haggadah relatesAlong came the catAnd ate up the lambThe dog choked the catThat ate the lambThat my father boughtFor just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb!Along came the stickTo beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtThat he bought. For just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb! Then came a fire. And burnt the stickThat beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtFor just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb! Then water came. And quenched the fireThat burnt the stickThat beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtFor just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb! Then came an ox and drank the water. That quenched the fireThat burnt the stickThat beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtFor just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb!Along came a butcher and killed the ox that drank the waterThat quenched the fireThat burnt the stickThat beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtThen came the Angel of Death. And slew the butcher.Who killed the ox. That drank the waterThat quenched the fireThat burnt the stickThat beat the dogThat choked the catThat ate the lamb. That my father boughtFor just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb! Why do you sing, little lamb?Spring isn't yet here. And Passover neitherHave you changed?I have changed this yearAnd every evening, Like each evening,I have only asked four questionsBut, tonight, I have thought of another questionHow long will this circle of horror last?Tonight, I have thought of another questionHow long will this circle of horror last?Of persecutor and persecuted, Of executioner and victimWhen will this madness end? What has changed this year? This year, I have changedI was a meek lambI have become a tiger and a wild wolfI was a dove, a gazelleToday, I don't know who I amMy father bought it. For just two coinsThe lamb! The lamb! Our father bought it. For just two coinsAnd everything is starting again
